We booked a ride from Almaty (Kazakhstan) to Karakol (Kyrgyzstan). This cross border trip is beautiful, and you cross many mountains. It is quite long, and we were riding in a regular sedan. It isn't anything fancy, but it does the trick! Our driver only spoke Russian, but he was very kind and helpful even though we didn't speak much Russian. We stopped for food in a town along the way. We also stopped at Charyn canyon for a few hours. This is a bumpy ride. The road isn't great, and it is slow going at times. The road wasn't paved and had lots of potholes. As long as you don't expect anything fancy, you'll be fine.

We went on a trek with Nomad's Land in July 2019 and were thoroughly satisfied with their organization, attention to detail, and responsiveness. HIghly recommend.

Thanks to the Nomad's land agency, we were able to discover Kyrgyzstan off the beaten track. We stayed in traditional guesthouses and in yurt camps in the middle of grandiose landscapes. But above all we met very welcoming people, who shared with us their culture and their way of living in harmony with nature.

I had been to Kyrgyzstan before, but only to the cities and to Issyk Kul. However, I really wanted to get out of the cities and visit more of the countryside and do some trekking through Naryn Oblast especially. The tour with Nomad's Land was excellent for this purpose as there were treks around Issyk Kul, Song Kul, as well as in the mountains near the Chinese border around the caravanserai at Tash Rabat, the last 3 of which we got to stay in yurts and witness nomadic life -- especially near Song Kul. The tour began in Bishkek and the guide was very knowledgeable about the city and the country. Afterwards the hikes were at various altitudes to acclimatize us, finally finishing with a horseback ride and hike at over 4000 meters. This last one was rough for me (I'm 54 years old), but with the previous hikes, I managed to make it. Actually, the horseback riding wore me out more than the hiking, but it was fun and the guides around the country were all helpful and great. There were also cultural things we did as well, like visit a yurt maker and have traditional Kyrgyz meals in peoples' homes. All in all, a very worthwhile and enjoyable trip that gives a great overall picture of Kyrgyzstan.

In a country where it's not that easy to backpacking on your own nomad's land helps you to organise a unique journey. I am very happy with the tour they organise, they got me. I saw amazing landscape and slept in wonderful places, in a yurt in a middle of nowhere or in shepherd house with local families. The guide Mirbek had a great sense of humours, incredible knowledge about his country. Easy going and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

A top team that will make you love the country!

Our beautifully well organized trip allowed us to discover this unknown country for us. Around Lake Issyk-Kul, 2 nights with an eagle trainer, 2 nights with a family in Song-Kul, 2 nights in Tach-Rabat and each time days of transitions through magnificent roads and landscapes. Accompanied by the driver guide Yuri, never short of anecdotes, explanations and stories. On our tour with Nomadsland everything was perfect, and it was one of the vacations of our life time. From the first day we contacted Fabian we were pleasantly surprised by the dedication and commitment he had put to build and organise the tour. Before and during the trip the communications was excellent and we were very impressed with the arrangements made for the entire trip. Great team here, they know how to take care of you. Very humble and friendly. We spent a week in southern part and they managed it really well. The place in Bishkek is great, on a quiet street but not too far from centre. Very impressed and will highly recommend.

Nomad’s Land is an agency with a very high level of professionalism. Go there with your eyes closed and re-open them to admire the purity of the landscapes crossed. From the first emails exchanged to the taxi scheduled to return to the airport, everything is expertly managed by Fabien and his team. I chose to go to Kyrgyzstan to find skiing conditions a little different from France, I was not disappointed. The snow remains powdery for several weeks in this season. It's simple, there hasn't been a descent that hasn't happened in 5-star conditions. Gionas, our mountain guide knows these places perfectly. He always knew how to take us where it was the best of the best. But the skiing conditions almost take a back seat compared to the exchanges with the locals and the incredible landscapes in which we have been evolving for almost 15 days. Alex, our guide and steward, allows for a most immersive contact with Kyrgyz culture. The proposed program is balanced, intelligently constructed. There is something for everyone. One word, bravo !!

Nomad's Land (Alex) helped us to plan and organize 8-days self-guided trekking in the mountains surrounding Karakol. It was our first visit in Kyrgystan and it was really good to rely on advices and suggestions of someone having mountain experince and knowledge of the local customs. The trekking was great, we started at Jeti-Oguz, then crossed Telety Pass, went down to Karakol valley, ascent to Alakul Lake, crossed Alakul Pass and went down the valley to Aksu. Nomad's Land arranged for us a nice trip from Karakol to Almaty by a private car, during which we visited the amazing Sharyn Canyon.

We arrived in Bishkek with no plans. We went to the Nomad's Land office and they were really helpful. They tailored a trip for us and the organisation was incredible. We have visited Kyrgyzstan with the agency Nomad’s Land and we had a great experience with them. They planned and customized the trip to our preferences and they provided us very professional guide and drivers. In our case, we preferred to have an organized trip because we had only one week in the country and we wanted to do some hikking as well, therefore, it saved us a lot of time. Nomad's Land organized a rich itinerary to fit my time constraints and I was blown away. As much as some of the excitement can be attributed to Kyrgyzstan's unparalleled beauty, it was the access to ancient modes of life that Nomads Land facilitated and which swept me off my tired feet. I could taste local hospitality in the settings from yesteryear, swallow a wealth of landscapes where late autumn Eastmancolor competed, mostly successfully, with precocious winter's monochrome. Bakyt, my triingual guide, was super-attentive to my whims and patient with my zombie Russian. From yurts to eagle hunting, textile weaving to archaeology, hikes to simply zoning out to soak up the local flavors - it was all one could wish for in such a short period of time and more. Highly, highly recommended.
